Turn a PDF into a book

What the AI import does, what it costs, and where you get a say.

A book you already have as a PDF becomes a series of lessons in the library without anyone retyping it. The AI reads the book; you decide what it became, at every stage, before any of it reaches the library.

  1. Library, then Browse, then Import Book.

Only at the top of the library, on the list of series, and only for a full-access administrator. You name the series, a short book code and the order, choose the PDF, and press Read the Book.

  2. The AI reads the book once and shows you its structure.

One call. Nothing is saved to the library. The import screen opens, with its three steps across the top: Step 1 Extract, Content Model, Step 2 Assemble.

  3. You correct the structure, then it reads each lesson.

One call per lesson. This is the part that costs money, which is why the correcting comes first.

  4. You look at what it read, block by block, and take the pictures out of the PDF.

  5. You see what it becomes as a lesson (Form.io, the lesson format), then write the whole book to the library.

Tip

Everything after the reading is free and can be done again as often as you like. The import keeps what the AI read, so changing your mind never means paying twice.

Tip

You can leave at any point - Back to Library is at the top. An import in progress is listed at the top of Browse, with Continue, and carries on from where it stopped.

Watch out

The book is created UNPUBLISHED and every lesson is a draft. Nothing reaches the reader app until you publish it.
